About

Dr Julian Collinson trained in cardiology in London, mainly at Harefield and the Royal Brompton Hospitals, and he was awarded a MD degree in 2000 following a period of research at the Royal Brompton in the epidemiology and management of acute coronary syndromes. His NHS base is Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

As well as interest in all areas of non-invasive cardiology, including heart failure, Dr Collinson's main specialist interests are interventional cardiology (angioplasty and stent insertion) and implantation of pacemakers (including biventricular devices) and defibrillators in the treatment of heart failure and sudden death syndrome. His main research interests are in the management of acute coronary syndromes and he has published in peer-review journals on these subjects as well as heart failure and valvular heart disease.

Dr Collinson’s professional memberships include British Cardiovascular Society (BCS), British Cardiovascular Intervention Society (BCIS), and the British Heart Rhythm Society (BHRS).
