Dr Francesco Lo Giudice is a consultant cardiologist at the Hammersmith Hospital.
He graduated with honors from the University of Palermo, Italy, in 1992. He then undertook the specialist training in cardiology which he completed in 1998 with full marks. Subsequently, he spent 18 months at St. George’s Hospital Medical School in London as a research fellow in cardiology supported by grants from the Mediterranean Institute for Transplantation and Advanced Specialised Therapies and the British Heart Foundation. Upon his return to Italy, Dr Lo Giudice worked as a consultant cardiologist at San Raffaele-Giglio Hospital of Cefalu’ (2000-2004) and at the University Hospital of Trieste (2004-2017) where he was in charge of the Pulmonary Hypertension Service at the cardiovascular department, but he has a vast experience in the field of cardiac intensive care and management of acute and chronic ischaemic heart disease, cardiomyopathies, advanced heart failure and complex arrhythmias.
Dr Lo Giudice currently works in London at the Hammersmith Hospital since 2017, in the Cardiology department and he is part of the Pulmonary Hypertension National service team. His main areas of interest are: pulmonary hypertension, congestive heart failure, ischaemic heart disease, cardiomyopathies, valvular heart disease, non-invasive and invasive cardiac investigations. He is also actively involved in national and international clinical research.
Dr Lo Giudice offers a range of services, including: cardiological consultation, electrocardiograms (ECG), echocardiographic examinations (trans-thoracic, trans-oesophageal, stress echo, contrast ultrasound), vascular ultrasound, right and left heart catheterization, invasive cardiopulmonary exercise test.
His private activity is carried out at Hammersmith Hospital in White City, Wellington Hospital in St John's Wood, One Heart Clinic in Harley Street, and Dottore London Clinic in Holborn.
