Some cancer treatments, known as Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy (SACT), can affect the electrical activity of the heart. As a result, some patients require regular electrocardiogram (ECG) monitoring before and during treatment to ensure that their therapy remains safe and appropriate.
Through this partnership, patients can undergo ECG monitoring from the comfort of their own home, helping to reduce unnecessary hospital visits while maintaining the highest standards of care.
How The Service Works
As part of your treatment pathway, a specialist Sciensus cancer nurse will visit you at home and perform a simple, non-invasive ECG using a portable device.
Your ECG recording will then be securely transmitted to One Heart Clinic, where it will be reviewed by our team of consultant cardiologists.
Results are typically reported within 24 hours and shared directly with your cancer team, helping them make informed decisions about your treatment.

Understanding Your ECG Result
Normal result
If your ECG is normal, no further cardiac intervention is required, and your treatment pathway can continue as planned.
Abnormal result
If your ECG identifies a potential concern, One Heart Clinic will work closely with your oncology team to arrange prompt specialist review.
Depending on your circumstances we may:
• Provide a remote cardiology consultation
• Arrange additional cardiac tests at a location convenient for you
• Offer an appointment at one of our specialist cardiology clinics
Our aim is to ensure any concerns are assessed quickly and efficiently, helping you continue your cancer treatment safely.
Urgent result
In the event that your ECG identifies a serious cardiac concern, you may be advised to seek urgent medical attention. This is very rare.
Why Cardiac Monitoring Matters During Cancer Treatment
