Safeguarding Your Rhythm With Advanced ICD and Pacemaker Checks

For A Healthier, Longer Life

Direct access to expert cardiologists and comprehensive annual pacemaker monitoring for £103 p/m.

Your Permanent Pacemaker (PPM) or Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator (ICD) needs to be checked at regular intervals to ensure that there is adequate remaining battery life, that the device is functioning appropriately, and to detect any abnormal rhythms.

Our membership is designed to reduce any worry about what's happening inside your body. We’ll identify if your pacemaker needs optimising and whether your treatment needs finessing to prevent deterioration, giving you certainty and peace of mind that your arrhythmias are under control.

Peace of mind for your heart, clarity for your future.

Annual Pacemaker Checks For Your Peace Of Mind
SYNCHRONISED. STEADY. SUPPORTED.

Your device is designed to work in harmony with your heart, and regular checks ensure that connection remains seamless.

Our annual pacemaker check ups look at the data your device has quietly gathered throughout the year to ensure it is responding perfectly.

Consistent monitoring is the most effective way to stay ahead of your heart health. By identifying subtle changes in battery life or lead performance early, we can make small, precise adjustments to the pacemaker settings if needed to optimise its function and prevent future complications. Research shows that patients who maintain a regular check-up schedule have more stable heart rhythms and a higher quality of life than those who wait for symptoms to appear.

Think of your Permanent Pacemaker (PPM) or ICD as a personalised health diary. During your appointment, we “read” this history for any abnormal cardiac rhythms which can also be interrogated during the check. This allows your cardiologist to refine your care plan with total accuracy.

Using non-invasive technology, we verify that every component – from the battery to the pacing leads – is functioning at its best. It’s a straightforward process that ensures your device isn't just active, but is working as efficiently as possible for you.

Q&A

Your Pacing Membership Questions, Answered

Standard pacing packages – such as those typically offered by the NHS – usually provide a once-a-year check focused solely on the device itself. While essential, these checks are often performed by a physiologist, resulting in a very narrow assessment that simply checks that the device is working.

Our Pacing Membership goes far beyond this by asking, “How are you doing overall?” We take a proactive, whole-heart approach where device monitoring is just one part of your complete cardiac picture.

Our membership provides:

  • Consultant-led care: Instead of only seeing a physiologist, your annual consultation is with a specialist consultant who looks at your overall cardiac health.
  • Comprehensive heart monitoring: We don't just check the pacemaker; we actively monitor your cardiac and heart valve function over time using an echocardiogram (echo).
  • Overview of your broader cardiac health: We include relevant blood tests to check your kidney, liver, and thyroid function, as well as blood lipids and sugar. This ensures we are optimising your health at large, not just managing the device.

Ultimately, our structured monitoring replaces anxiety about your condition with facts, offering real quality-of-life value. It ensures your treatment is finessed to prevent deterioration, giving you peace of mind that your arrhythmias are completely under control.

The pacing membership includes the consultation, pacemaker check, echocardiogram, ECG and blood tests. If your battery needs or device needs to be replaced, this is not included in your membership. We are transparent about costs and would discuss any additional costs with you, if required.

Our admin team is here to help in any way we can. We are happy to send a copy of your test results to your NHS GP or regular doctor for you.

Tests are carried out at your nearest One Heart Clinic location. View our clinic locations here.

If you need anything outside of your subscription your consultant will discuss this with you in advance. Any tests done at One Heart clinic will be provided at OHC self pay prices, less 10%.

If your results suggest changes that are concerning, your cardiologist will discuss them with you in a clear and straight-forward manner, and tailor your treatment accordingly.

You have a 14-day period to cancel should you change your mind. After this time if you cancel your subscription, you will be liable to cover the costs of any services you have used, which will be charged as One Heart Clinic self-pay prices less 15%.
