Keeping Your Hypertension Under Control With Gold-Standard Monitoring

For A Healthier, Longer Life

Direct access to expert cardiologists and comprehensive annual hypertension screenings for £114 p/m.

A staggering 30% of adults in the UK are living with high blood pressure. High blood pressure silently drives strokes, heart attacks, heart failure, kidney disease, and even dementia. It builds quietly, usually with no symptoms until damage has occurred.

Our membership is designed to reduce your anxiety about what's happening inside your body, identify potential complications, and prevent deterioration, giving you certainty and peace of mind that your hypertension is under control.

Peace of mind for your heart, clarity for your future.

MONITORED. MANAGED. PROTECTED.

50% of heart attacks and strokes are associated with high blood pressure

Our comprehensive annual screenings detect early changes to your blood pressure before they lead to more serious concerns.

Good monitoring directly translates to reduced risk of these life-altering events and the ultimate value – not just living longer, but avoiding disability. Studies consistently show that patients who monitor regularly achieve better long-term control than those who only check in when something feels wrong.

Hypertension is characterised by increased pressure in the blood vessels which puts the heart under strain and potentially damages other organs including the brain and kidneys. Thankfully, treatment of blood pressure with lifestyle modification and drug therapy significantly reduces the risk of both heart attacks and strokes.

Lifestyle changes such as smoking cessation, reducing alcohol intake and eating healthily including minimising salt intake can effectively reduce blood pressure independently of prescription drugs. Exercise and weight loss has also been found to be beneficial with a kg of weight loss roughly equating to a 1mmHg reduction in blood pressure.

Annual consultation with your named consultant in person or online – it’s your choice
  • Echocardiogram icon
Echocardiogram (echo) – monitors cardiac function including whether there are changes to suggest that high blood pressure has caused the heart to stiffen and pump less effectively. One of the signs that may represent this is thickening of the wall of the heart (LVH – Left Ventricular Hypertrophy).
  • Ambulatory blood pressure monitor icon
Ambulatory blood pressure monitor – gives an average blood pressure over 24 hours and assesses whether there are any spikes of high blood pressure or whether the blood pressure falls at night as would be expected.
  • Relevant blood tests icon
Relevant blood tests – typically include checks on kidney, liver, thyroid function as well as checks on blood lipids and sugar.

Q&A

Your Hypertension Membership Questions, Answered

We go above and beyond regular hypertension annual checks and reviews, offering the gold standard per NICE guidelines for accurate treatment decisions.

Our 24-hour ambulatory monitor is especially valuable – it reveals patterns (night-time dips, morning spikes) that a single GP reading misses entirely. We combine this with an echocardiogram which monitors silent changes to the heart, along with blood tests which typically look at kidney, liver, thyroid function, blood lipids and sugar to check for factors that may worsen blood pressure.

Structured monitoring replaces anxiety about your condition with facts, which has real quality-of-life value.

If your screening results suggest changes that are concerning, your cardiologist will discuss them with you in a clear and straight-forward manner, and tailor your treatment to keep the hypertension under control.

Tests are carried out at your nearest One Heart Clinic location. View our clinic locations here.

If you need anything outside of your subscription your consultant will discuss this with you in advance. Any tests done at One Heart clinic will be provided at OHC self pay prices, less 10%.
